Welcome to Samafas. I know, I know, it sounds a little strange. At first it seemed like the ideal domain name for my first website, but then try asking somebody to spell it. Say it over the phone (for your email address) and see what they come up with. I can assure you that it is not my website domain.
So why did I create Samafas? Well, at the time I was travelling around the world, and although I had spent a lot of time in Europe and the United States, there were three continents that I had not yet travelled to.
It seemed like a great idea to turn them into some sort of acronym.
Thus was born, “Samafas”.
- S.Am. = South America
- Af = Africa
- As = Asia
Simple really, when you break it down into its components. But then again, it is not quite as easy to say as I first thought. So there you have it. The true meaning of Samafas.
Perhaps it should have been written SAmAfAs instead.
So what is Samafas? Well, it started out as my personal blog as I travelled the world. That blog has now disappeared, hidden deep in the backups of backups. But since it started as a travel blog, why not continue as a travel blog?
True, “Samafas” is not really a travel word. Well, not yet.
But it could be.
So here begins a travel journey. Welcome aboard.
