I have known Eric from our school days. We met when his family moved out to the same country town that I had only recently arrived at too. I sold him my a dud motorbike and our friendship just grew from there.

Eric and his family. (Left to right: mum, sis, me, Nat, Eric, dad)
On one of those rare occasions in families scattered around the country, Eric's whole family was together for Mother's day and I was invited out with them. It was wonderful to see his parents and sister again, after such a long time and we all had a lot of fun.

The Kookaburra is one of Australia's iconic birds and is only found here.
Near the end of the day, we were treated to a meander around the back section of their property. Even though Eric's parents no longer live in the country, they were unable to get away completely from the land, and still have a lovely overgrown and heavily treed section on their property. Just like the bush.

A hungry kookaburra looking for a meal with a magpie waiting behind to pick up the scraps.

Nasty looking spiders should be avoided at all costs on the nature walk out the back of the property.

Nat and her car. Getting to experience a drive in this little car was a lot of fun.
