Today I view the world through 37 year old eyes. It doesn't look much different to yesterday actually, but there is one more year of memories, and one big year of lots of amazing adventures.
Since my last birthday, in Scotland, I have travelled through...
London, New York and other parts of the States, Rio De Janeiro and parts of Brazil, Santiago and other areas of Chile, Buenos Aires and parts of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia. I have climbed extremely active volcanoes, driven cars across complete countries, visited Movie World and Cape Canavaral, been in urban war zones, swam in beautiful beaches, trekked for hours over mountains, and generally really enjoyed myself.
Thanks everyone for being there for me during this time. For your emails, calls, and prayers. And just in case you may have forgotten about me after all of this time, I have included a self-portrait taken with my phone.
I am going to dinner with some friends at a very cool Mexican restaurant down by the riverside. There is an export quality bottle of organic white wine that I bought during my Adventure Holiday in Cafayate that I dragged all over the place with me. Today it will be drunk. No more carting this bottle anymore. Time is up. And I'm going to enjoy it too.
UPDATE: I am somehow still carting that lovely bottle of wine around with me. It seems to defy being drunk many times. It turns out that the restaurant would not let me drink it there. So when and where it gets consumed I have yet to determine. But my dinner at the restaurant was fantastic. Lovely food and a good mate to share it all with.
I wish that you all have a wonderful next year. I know I will.
